Documents Requirements for New Construction
- Sketch plan showing property outline, house location w/ front, side, rear setback dimensions. Include any accessory structures.
- Septic permit
- Driveway permit (if applicable)
- Well permit (if applicable)
- EGLE permit (if applicable)
- Soil Erosion permit (if applicable)
- 24” & 36” full set prints, or digital copy

- Footing/truss details (if applicable)
- Copy of work contract if done by contractor

Lincoln Township
Building Permit Process
- 1.Fill out and submit building permit application
- Review project as applicable (new construction, remodel, roofing, pole barn, etc) for supporting documentation to submit along application.
- For review in a timely manner COMPLETE documents must be submitted as applicable along with the permit application.
- 2.Submit permit application & supporting documents to

Please allow 10 business days to receive and review, zoning administrator will contact you when review is complete for next steps.
- 3.Zoning administrator will review project for zoning and all applicable documents prior to issuing any applicable permits.
If application passes zoning requirements, and ALL documents are in order.
- Zoning administrator will contact you to setup appointment to receive payment and will issue permit.
If application DOES NOT meet zoning requirements, or all required documents are not in order or submitted with application
- Zoning administrator will
- Provide feedback for any zoning requirements not met, any missing documents that need to be submitted with application, or any corrections for resubmission.
- Will require a resubmission for any corrections, missing documents, etc.
Once you receive your permit you may start your project. Please contact Lincoln Twp Building Inspector to review what inspections will be required for your project.
