The meeting of the Lincoln Township Planning Commission was called to order by Chairperson Sue Ensign at 6:35 pm.
Roll call was taken: Susan Ensign, Reid Duford, Sheila Mesler, Chris Clark, and Mark Thornton were all present.
A motion was made by Chris Clark to approve the agenda and was supported by Reid Duford. Motion approved 5-0.
Motion by Reid Duford and by supported Mark Thornton to approve the minutes of the October 11, 2011 meeting. Motion approved 5-0.
New Business: Elect New Officers and Set Meeting Dates for 2012
- Sue Ensign nominated Sheila Mesler as Acting Chairperson – the nomination was supported by Chris Clark. Motion approved 5-0.
- Sheila Mesler nominated Sue Ensign as Vice Chairperson and Main Contact Person – the nomination was supported by Reid Duford. Motion approved 5-0.
- Sue Ensign nominated Reid Duford as Secretary – the nomination was supported by Chris Clark. Motion approved 5-0.
A motion was made by Sheila Mesler and supported by Mark Thornton to schedule the 2012 meetings at 6:30 pm on the following dates: January 12, 2012, March 20, 2012, May 15, 2012, July 17, 2012, September 18, 2012, and November 20, 2012. The motion was approved 5-0.
Other new business
Sue Ensign asked Reid Duford to review the Urban Cooperation Act Agreement between Lincoln Township and the City of Midland. The agreement is scheduled to expire in 2014.
Motion
A motion was made by Sheila Mesler and supported by Reid Duford to make a recommendation to the Lincoln Township Board that when relevant issues such as site plan reviews, sign permitting, ordinance language review/changes and special land use permits are being discussed or considered by the Planning Commission the Zoning Administrator/Building Inspector shall be in attendance for questions, comments and concerns at those meetings. The motion was approved 5-0.
