The meeting of the Lincoln Township Planning Commission was called to order by Chairperson Sheila Mesler at 6:30 pm.

Roll call was taken: Reid Duford, Chris Clark, Sheila Mesler, Mark Thornton, and Sue Ensign were present.

Motion: Carried unanimously

A motion was made by Sue Ensign to approve the agenda and was supported by Chris Clark. Motion approved 5-0.

Motion: Carried unanimously

Motion by Reid Duford and supported by Mark Thornton to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2013 meeting. Motion approved 5-0.

Commission Comments: Sue Ensign spoke about MTA training and registration no later than August 6, 2013

New Business: Review of Casey’s Bike Shop Plan for Existing Special Use

The Planning Commission had a lengthy discussion and agreed on the following motion put forward:

Motion: Carried 4 to 0, roll call

Reid Duford made a motion – That the Commission finds Casey’s Bike Shop, located at 711 E Saginaw in Lincoln Township, is and has been in full compliance of the “Special Use” permit approved on March 30, 1999, and the Commission finds the proposed site improvement plan for this property to be in compliance with the existing “Special Use” as provided by the Lincoln Township Zoning Ordinance. The motion was seconded by Mark Thornton. Motion approved 4-0. To avoid any conflict of interest, Sue Ensign recused herself from the Commission for this discussion and abstained from the vote.

Old Business: Discussion about the sign ordinance and stricter enforcement

The Commission supports the Township Code Enforcement Officer’s notification of sign violations and asks that addition action be taken to ensure full compliance of the Township’s Sign Ordinance.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 pm
