The meeting of the Lincoln Township Planning Commission was called to order by Chairperson Sue Ensign at 6:30 pm.
Roll call was taken: Susan Ensign, Reid Duford, Chris Clark, and Mark Thornton were present. Sheila Mesler was absent.
A motion was made by Mark Thornton to approve the agenda and was supported by Chris Clark. Motion approved 4-0.
Motion by Chris Clark and supported by Reid Duford to approve the minutes of the April 27, 2011 meeting. Motion approved 4-0.

Zoning Ordinance Review notes and questions
May 3, 2011 Planning Commission meeting
- Find dates of amendments for each version of the ZO
- Locate Township Board resolutions with respect to “stand alone ordinances” and when they were established.
- Need to place zoning maps on the website
- Add a definition for Cemeteries
- Define Heavy Vehicle – commercial, limos, tow trucks, tractor trailers, etc,... more than a ton and a half?? What is used in other jurisdictions?
- Recreational equipment - draft is okay
- Recreational vehicle - draft is okay
- Need to more clearly define junkyards and salvage yards
- Private road – should be listed in definitions as Road, Private
- Common drives – defined? (section 302) same language for private roads?
- Need a graphic that defines corner lot, interior lot, etc....
- Road, Approved – is too restrictive? What standards are used in other townships?
- Storage – leave in “is placed and kept”
- Water mark 581.5 (chapter 3 graphic) – what does that mean?
- Yard sale definition – move #3 from chapter 3 to item C
- Move c.) Non-conforming signs to chapter 5
- e) Private roads – page 27 – chapter 3 (draft)
- Need appendix of internet links
- Page 28 – question – link to ordinance

- Retaining walls – yard improvements – need to include

- Page 33 – says Ingersoll Township???
- Page 35 – Need to compare with blight ordinance

- Page 38 – Check for accuracy – section 3.9 – dangerous and abandoned buildings
