The meeting of the Lincoln Township Planning Commission was called to order by Chairperson Sheila Mesler at 6:30 pm.
Roll call was taken: Sue Ensign, Reid Duford, Mark Thornton, Chris Clark, and Sheila Mesler were present.
A motion was made by Sue Ensign to approve the agenda and supported by Sheila Mesler. Motion approved 5-0.
Motion by Reid Duford and supported by Sue Ensign to approve the minutes of the July 19, 2016 meeting. Motion approved 5-0.
Commission Comments: The Commission held a discussion about Resource Extraction Ordinance with Rob Eggers from Spicer Group.
Public Comments: Don Acker and Kevin Wray joined the Commission discussion about Resource Extraction.
New Business: Master Plan – the Planning Commission began the review and updating process of the Master Plan with assistance from Rob Eggers from Spicer Group.
Old Business: The Township Board returned the Resource Extraction Ordinance amendments back to the Planning Commission for further discussion and consideration. After further discussion and public input, Sue Ensign made a motion recommending the Lincoln Township Board modify Section 7.18 of the Lincoln Town Ordinance, under paragraph - d. Development Standards, part (1), to say; “No excavation shall be made closer than 50 feet from any adjoining property or public right-of-way.” and to approve the remaining amendments as set forth to the Board at their September 13 meeting. This motion was supported by Reid Duford and approved by a 5-0 vote of the Commission members present.
The next meeting is scheduled for Nov 1, 2016
