Township Board Budget Meeting Minutes — March 24, 2026

Special meeting of the Lincoln Township board was called to order by Supervisor Fales at 6:00pm. Full board present and one guest. Agenda was approved as presented. Budget was discussed. One correction in the water fund. Amended budget was approved unanimously.

Special meeting was recessed at 6:04pm. Truth in Taxation hearing opened at 6:04pm. Discussion Re: Headlee Rollback effect on taxes this year. Grants discussed. Fire department would like a side by side or a brush truck. Not enough funds in the budget. Sanitation costs are staying even, another increase may be needed to put us ahead of rising costs.
Retreat Special Assessment tracked. Minor adjustments done.
Tax hearing closed at 6:30pm, Special meeting reopened.

Proposed budget was approved by unanimous roll call vote.
Operating millage extension of 1.2798 through next fiscal year approved by unanimous roll call vote.
Resolution to buy/sell real property approved.
Accounting policy document proposed for vote. Wirtz/yes; Wilson/no; Oswald/yes; Fales/yes; Merideth/abstain.
Pricing quote for outside accounting firm discussed. Wirtz/yes; Wilson/no; Oswald/yes; Fales/yes; Merideth/yes.
