Township Board Meeting Minutes — January 13, 2026

Meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. with full board and ten guests present.

Agenda was approved as presented.

Public comment held. Senate candidate Christian Velasquez gave brief remarks.

Street lights are out on the corner of Francis and Saginaw; and Airport Road/Stark Road.

The red truck driving recklessly in the parking lot is continuing; police have been notified again.

Minutes of December 9 meeting approved as presented.

Correspondence presented/discussed.

Clerk’s report given. Treasurer’s report given. Bills approved/paid with unanimous roll call vote.

Fire department report given; 28 calls since last report.

Planning Committee report given; meeting dates set for 2026/posted on bulletin board and webpage.

Building Inspector report given; one new permit issued.

Ordinance Enforcement report given; One new blight violation; two others followed up on.

Water Authority/Solid Waste reports given. Park report given/excellent cleanup from recent ice storm by Laskape.

Solid Waste report given.

AED Purchase for hall is on hold. Grant for county did not materialize; no spare AEDs are available for twp hall.

MACF TOWN Grant of $5K still available.

2026 Sanford Road Projects reviewed/estimates and explanation provided by Supervisor. Projects unanimously approved as amended.

Stop sign proposal for Hope/Sanford does not meet Road Commission requirements.

Brandle Roofing will provide Supervisor with estimate to repair low spot in roof which causes repeated leaking.

MC Hazard Mitigation Plan adopted unanimously.

Street light at M-30/Sanford Legion discussed. Supervisor to check with Consumers about pole replacement.

Purchasing Policy and Expense Reimbursement Policy both presented/adopted unanimously.

Assessor requested Board approve township credit card for his use. Approved unanimously.
