What the Building Inspector does
The Building Inspector is responsible for ensuring that construction within the township is safe, lawful, and compliant with all applicable codes and ordinances.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans for compliance with State of Michigan and local building codes
- Conduct inspections of construction-in-progress to verify safe and proper practices
- Enforce township zoning ordinances by performing field investigations
- Respond to complaints related to building or zoning violations
